Clare Burren Marathon Challenge 2026 – Half Marathon
Race Details
The Clare Burren Marathon Challenge Half Marathon (13.1 miles) takes place on Saturday 23rd May 2026, starting and finishing in the village of Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare.
Route: Leaving Ballyvaughan, after 1 mile take a right up Fineona road. At the top, turn left past the Burren College of Art, on to Glenfort, past the ruins of Rathbourney Church to Poulacapple, where you turn left onto the green trail road. Halfway up Poulacapple, turn right heading for Faunarcoska, Ismacsheedy and Aghaglinny on the green road. Leaving Aghaglinny for the run down past Gleninagh, the Aran Islands come into view, along with Gleninagh Castle, the Rine and South Galway. Joining back onto the main road along the coast, passing the Pinnacle Well takes you back to the finish line.
Surface: Approximately 3 miles on road, 3.6 miles off road, then alternating road and trail sections back into the village.
Requirements: Participants must be over 16 years of age. Chip timing on route.
